An Industrial Building in a Charming Courtyard is Turned into a Small Townhouse
In the middle of the Swedish city of Gothenburg lies a charming courtyard with beautiful, restored 19th-century buildings. And in one of these buildings, you can find today’s home, a small loft-style townhouse with modern interiors and a charming patio terrace.
The industrial building was formerly used as a brewery and for warehouse storage, but in 2017, it was converted into beautiful modern homes, featuring carefully selected materials and a stylish design that harmonizes with the picturesque courtyard.

The front door and a glass door in the living space open onto the private patio terrace in the courtyard. A charming space with a social character.
This house has a townhouse feel despite having a floorplan of only 48 square meters. Perfect for singles and couples that don’t want to live in an apartment.

The glass front door opens into a hall with a built-in niche for outerwear. The polished concrete floor continues into the living space.

The house has an open-plan living space with large windows set in deep, arched niches, with natural stone sills. It brings a lot of natural light to the living space and a connection to the patio and the characteristic courtyard.

The ceiling height of 3.40 meters helps create a more voluminous feeling, despite the home being small. The light gray shade on the walls helps to create a modern atmosphere.

The kitchen is tucked under the stairs leading to the sleeping loft. The tasteful kitchen design from Italian Arrital features dark gray cabinet doors with a composite worktop and glass shelves.

The butter-yellow Gustaf Westman table adds a soft color pop to the space.

With the open layout with the hall and the glass doors to the patio opened, the small home feels more spacious.

The bathroom is located directly on the left in the hall. The walls and floor are fitted with Italian granite ceramics.

The large window lets in plenty of natural light, and the stone windowsill provides extra storage space.

A stylish staircase with dark-stained wood leads you to the upper floor.

The loft area has high ceilings with exposed wooden beams. The double skylights provide a lot of natural light that also flows into the staircase thanks to the industrial glass window fitted into the wall.

The soft color tones continue into this space with light gray walls and a pastel-colored rug that adds a nice color pop.

Built-in wardrobes under the slanted ceiling provide plenty of storage space.
